About Accountability Demon

Why does this exist, and who’s behind it?

Why this exists

I’m not someone who has conquered procrastination. I’m someone who struggles with it, and I’m building something to address it.

I know what matters. I make plans. Then I put off the important things, even when I know they matter. That gap — between knowing and doing — is what Accountability Demon is for. It is built around one daily commitment, made deliberately and finished the same day: One Frog. One Promise. One Day.

That’s a much more honest story than pretending to be a productivity expert. I’m building the tool I needed, and I’m testing it with a small group of early users as I go.

Who’s behind it

I’m John Paul Gomez. I’m building Accountability Demon myself, in the open, while I use it to face my own unfinished promises.

I’m not selling a system I mastered from the outside. I’m building from the inside, one Frog at a time, and learning what actually helps me follow through — and what doesn’t.

Why the basic version will always be free

I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed by the very things you know you need to do. I know what it’s like to put things off until the consequences become impossible to ignore.

And when you’re in that position, the last thing you need is another bill. Especially for an app that may or may not help you.

I’m not going to pretend Accountability Demon is the answer to everyone’s problems. I’m still trying to figure things out myself.

But I built this because I needed something like it. And if it helps someone else, I don’t want money to be the reason they can’t use it. That’s why the basic version will always be free.

There will be optional paid features for people who want more. Those will help keep the project going. But the core daily ritual will remain available to everyone.

What this is, and what it isn’t

Accountability Demon is not a to-do list, and it is not a cure for procrastination. It cannot give you discipline, and it cannot do the work on your behalf. What it can do is make the gap between intention and action easier to confront, one deliberate choice at a time.

For the thinking behind the ritual, read The F.R.O.G. Method. For what I’m learning as I build it, read The Journal. For short answers before you join, read the FAQ.

If you’re struggling with follow-through too, you’re who I’m building this for.
